smm-real-church-is-one-person-not-a-building is theologically dense and worth attention. SMM’s own framing rejects building-centric ministry and prizes the quality of one in extremis. This sits in genuine tension with the mega-church scaling vision of the rest of BR — Question 3 (does-smm-one-person-not-building-pull-against-mega-church-scaling) flags this directly. Worth a future thread when more ecclesiology material accumulates.

uc-has-drifted-toward-denominational-mainline-pattern is Hendricks’s most direct internal-critical statement to this point. The whole book is essentially a call to reverse this drift. Worth recognizing as the load-bearing diagnostic of the project.

Still deferred. The “what kind of religion is UC, taxonomically?” cluster flagged in batch-005 has grown — now includes batch-006’s uc-has-drifted-toward-denominational-mainline-pattern and uc-message-must-stand-independent-of-korean-culture. Probably batch-007 (BR Ch 6 Unification Church and the Populist Style) is the natural moment to draft this thread, since Hendricks’s chapter 6 is his own most-direct attempt at the question.
