REVIEW — batch-009

Source: resources/Believers-Responsibility/08-peace-through-shared-worship.md (formatted; ingestion gate skipped)

Scope: 9 atomics + 1 new Person note (Hyung Jin Moon — 3rd backlink triggers index) + 1 new Glossary term (meltdown-worship) + 3 questions. Chapter 8 has two arcs: (1) interfaith “meltdown worship” via youth + populist form; (2) long-arc strategy lesson (CAUSA → Stark → Moon-on-miracles → DP messianic emergence).

Produced

/reference/ (9 atomics)

  1. meltdown-worship-as-deepest-peacebuilding-task.md — the chapter thesis
  2. youth-led-interfaith-worship-as-only-mechanism.md — the prescribed mechanism (Miller + Hendricks extension)
  3. hyung-jin-moon-buddhist-meditation-expresses-uc-identity.md — proof-of-concept case
  4. mt-oak-healthy-church-four-principles.md — Hunter’s 4: youth-for-youth / holy>style / demographic small groups / flat gifts-based leadership
  5. hub-la-2008-young-adult-pilot-and-trust-creative-space.md — the Hub case + Jatoma Gavin’s “trust + creative space” success principle
  6. stark-3-42-percent-annual-growth-of-early-christianity.md — the canonical sociology citation; durable network-based growth
  7. moon-stopped-emphasizing-spiritual-perceptions-as-faith-protection.md — internal-critical: Moon’s own deliberate de-emphasis of miracle reporting
  8. causa-decades-long-strategy-as-template-for-church-growth.md — the strategic lesson from the Berlin Wall arc
  9. dp-kingdom-realized-in-hearts-then-societies.md — DP coda: Kingdom grows from believer-hearts outward

/persons/ (1 new — first new person note since SMM)

  1. hyung-jin-moon.md — triggered by 3rd atomic referencing him (existing two + atomic 3 above). Includes explicit BR-scope-vs-post-2012 disambiguation note.

/glossary/ (1 new term)

  1. meltdown-worship.md — Hendricks’s coined term, distinct from “salad bar” / “spirituality smorgasbord.” Includes definition, conditions, theological warrant, proof-of-concept, and open challenges.

/questions/ (3, auto-promoted per feedback_questions_default_promote)

  1. why-didnt-moons-trans-denominational-worship-materialize-by-2012.mdcritical. Moon conditioned his ascension on this work; what actually happened?
  2. does-hyung-jin-buddhist-informed-worship-risk-syncretism.mdinteresting. Post-2012 Sanctuary fracture is at least consistent with the slow-syncretism hypothesis.
  3. does-uc-actually-have-a-decades-long-church-growth-strategy.mdcritical. The natural strategic-infrastructure escalation of uc-has-drifted-toward-denominational-mainline-pattern.

Most important content

meltdown-worship glossary + atomics 1–3 are the conceptual heart of the chapter — they articulate UC’s most ambitious interfaith claim. The new glossary term is the most reusable artifact; future chapters and external sources will likely link to it.

Question 12 (why-didnt-moons-trans-denominational-worship-materialize) is the highest-stakes question this batch. It is load-bearing on Moon’s own providential statement — he conditioned his ascension on completing trans-denominational worship and then died in 2012. If readers can credibly answer this question, it bears on grounds-for-the-uc-messianic-claim thread.

Question 14 (does-uc-actually-have-a-decades-long-church-growth-strategy) is the most operationally consequential and is a natural thread seed paired with the existing uc-has-drifted-toward-denominational-mainline-pattern atomic and future post-2012 source material.

New tags, glossary, persons summary

  • New tag: none (all 9 atomics use existing tags)
  • New glossary term: meltdown-worship (justified — distinctive Hendricks term, not a generic word)
  • New person note: hyung-jin-moon (justified — third backlink triggers index per CONTEXT.md pattern; SMM was the precedent)

  • populist-church glossary: gains ~5 new backlinks (atomics 2, 3, 4, 5, 9; possibly more)
  • true-parents glossary: gains backlinks from atomic 3 and glossary meltdown-worship directly
  • believers-responsibility glossary: gains 1 from atomic 9
  • sun-myung-moon person: gains backlinks from atomics 7, 8, 9 and glossary meltdown-worship
  • hyung-jin-moon person (new): starts with backlinks from atomic 3 + glossary meltdown-worship + question 13 + existing atomics hyung-jin-moon-populist-initiatives-as-international-president and hyung-jin-moon-named-heir-2010-special-proclamation

Pre-commit hook will catch what is missed.

DP citation grammar — flag

Chapter 8 quotes EDP pp. 394, 107, 388. Per CONTEXT.md citation table, DP citations require [[DP/<chapter-file>#section|<section>]] form, but /resources/DP/ is empty (no DP files ingested yet). I did not invent a DP file; atomic 9 cites only the BR resource and notes the EDP pages inline as parenthetical reference. This is the safest path until DP is ingested.

If DP ingestion is planned soon, atomic 9’s body should later be updated to add the proper DP wikilink. Logged here so it isn’t forgotten.

Stale wrestling

  • grounds-for-the-uc-messianic-claim — still deferred per re-engagement triggers (DP/EDP or post-2012 sources). Question 12 this batch is adjacent (Moon’s own ascension condition) but does not itself unlock the thread; it would need at least one DP atomic and one post-2012 source atomic to make progress.
  • what-kind-of-religion-is-uc-taxonomically — still actively “wrestling” per its own re-engagement triggers. No change this batch.

Proposed threads

One soft proposal — defer one more batch before drafting:

No other new thread proposals this batch.

How to review

  1. Open /staging/batch-009/ in Obsidian or VS Code.
  2. Start with the new glossary (meltdown-worship.md) — it’s the most reusable artifact and frames the rest.
  3. Read atomics 1–3 (the meltdown worship arc). Atomic 3 (Hyung Jin Buddhist) is the most theologically loaded.
  4. Read atomics 4–5 (case studies). These are descriptively heavy; mostly verify quotation accuracy against the source.
  5. Read atomics 6–9 (the strategy arc). Atomic 7 (Moon-on-miracles) is internally critical; atomic 9 (DP coda) has the DP citation flag noted above.
  6. Read the new person note (Hyung Jin Moon). Verify scope-disambiguation language is acceptable.
  7. Read the 3 questions. Question 12 is critical-priority; verify it’s framed neutrally enough to be answered honestly either way.
  8. Say “approved” + any edits. I’ll finalize, hook validates.
