Claim. Children should be educated to live for God and the world, because parental love is meant to become public-minded leadership.

Elaboration. SMM says religion is “the foremost teaching” because it teaches people to live with the world, and parents should love children for God’s sake and for the sake of humankind (CSG 4.9 §8, 133-114, 1984.7.10). A mother who raises children only for private success narrows them; a mother who raises them with public heart helps form future leaders. Goodness may not be rewarded immediately, but it “does not perish.” The family therefore becomes a school for world-embracing love.
