Elaboration. SMM says the spirit-world is enveloped in “the elements of love,” and its atmosphere is true love (CSG 4.4 §8, 145-267, 1986.5.15). Those who fully loved parents, siblings, spouse, and children on earth can “go everywhere without restriction.” Those without these experiences become isolated because they cannot follow the rhythm of that world. The section explains the reason: parental love is vertical, conjugal love horizontal, and sibling love circular; each trains a distinct movement of love. Marriage and family are therefore not optional social arrangements but preparation for breathing the air of the next world.
