Claim. SMM defines the four-position foundation — individual, spouse, and children, centered on God — as the structural unit whose completion is identical to the fulfilled purpose of creation.

Elaboration. The definition is compact and explicit: “A person should not remain alone but rather go through three stages, beginning with the individual, then the partner stage, and finally the stage with children. The God-centered relationship between a person, the spouse and their children is the four-position foundation. The completion of this four-position foundation is God’s purpose of creation” (4.1.-gods-ideal-of-creation-is-the-completion-of-the-four-position-foundation, 19-106, 1967.12.31).

The geometric argument matters: a couple alone has “today” but no “tomorrow” — only children create the vertical (parent/child) axis that completes the three-dimensional sphere of heaven and earth (ibid, 85-178, 1976.3.3). Without children and grandchildren, the ideal spherical realm cannot form.

This grounds why the Blessing in the UC is not merely a wedding but a cosmic event: each Blessed couple that completes the four-position foundation is, structurally, fulfilling God’s original purpose of creation.
