Claim. Love is the central axis of the universe — the cause and the result, the beginning and the end — and even the Absolute God positions Himself in obedience to it.
Elaboration. §3.1 elevates love from one principle among many to the principle around which all motion centers: “What is the central axis of the whole universe and spirit world? It is love. Love is the origin of life and lineage” (3.1. The center of the universe is love, 208-79, 1990.11.17). SMM goes further and makes the divine-constraint explicit: “The origin of the universe is love… Even the absolute God needs an ideal which He will absolutely obey. Where there is complete obedience and liberation, there will be complete happiness” (ibid, 198-237, 1990.2.3). Love is both efficient cause and final cause: “It is the cause and, at the same time, the result. It is the motive and, at the same time, the purpose” (ibid, 216-288, 1991.4.14). The implication is that even God is not above love — He is its supreme servant, and that obedience is what makes Him liberated rather than diminished.
