Elaboration. SMM says man needs woman and woman needs man “more than Korea, more than the world, and even more than God” (CSG 4.5 §3, 25-180, 1969.10.4). The point is not that the partner outranks God absolutely, but that God’s love cannot be experienced alone. He says men and women are born with God’s knowledge of the partner’s need and that “tasting true love requires a realm of ideal.” When an absolute man and absolute woman become one in heart, “God comes and dwells with them.” The section also diagnoses narcissism as historical tragedy: self-fascination blocks the relational condition for love.
