Claim. Christian spiritual rebirth — Jesus as groom plus the holy-spirit as bride — was the partial, spiritual-only form of the lineage transfer that physical True Parents must now complete.
Elaboration. SMM ties spiritual rebirth to a spousal-pair mechanism: “The love of Jesus, the groom, and the love of the Holy Spirit, the bride, must unite into one. Their united love must then become one with your bones and flesh. … There can be no rebirth if the foundation of love is not established” (2.2. The core of providential rebirth, 114-27, 1981.5.14). The mechanism is incomplete because it is spiritual only: “People in the world who were born before the True Mother came into existence were born in vain. That is why they needed to be engrafted to Jesus, pass through the body of Jesus, and be reborn through the Holy Spirit. This is possible because Jesus formed a spousal relationship of true love” (ibid, 17-192, 1966.12.18). The completion-stage demand is steeper: “The Messiah may convert the lineage, but it is up to you to accept the conversion. Unless the foundation on which the conversion can take place is established, you cannot walk towards salvation” (ibid, 35-160, 1970.10.13).
