Claim. No one can be registered into the Kingdom of God until that Kingdom has the three nation-marks of sovereignty, citizenry, and territory — and at present it has none of them.
Elaboration. SMM names the missing legal prerequisites: “Without a nation, there can be no nationality. Without a nation, there can be no foundation upon which you can be registered” (1.3. Registration requires a sovereign state, 58-143, 1972.5.22). The Blessing is only symbolic registration: “The time will come when you can register yourselves. Receiving the Blessing is not the same as registering. The Blessing is only a symbolic registration. That is why we are seeking to restore the nation in which we can be registered. What kind of nation would it be? It would be one in which a trinity is formed of the sovereignty, which takes the place of parents; the citizens, who take the place of the children; and national land, which takes the place of possessions” (ibid, 35-282, 1970.10.25). The Blessed Families therefore live in a doubled condition: members of a real-world nation (Korea, Japan, USA, etc.) yet pre-citizens of a Kingdom whose sovereignty, citizenry, and territory still need to be substantially established.
