Elaboration. SMM treats the two worlds as a structural pair: “We live in this world, yet we know that this is not all there is and that the spirit-world exists. The physical and spirit worlds are not separate but are connected as one” (1.2. Where are we heading in life?, 140-121, 1986.2.9). The dual experience is necessary: “Similarly, corresponding with the mind and body, you should experience both physical and spirit worlds” (2.1. Death is the inevitable conclusion of earthly life, 210-128, 1990.12.17). The internal-external correspondence is precise: the head’s four sense organs “symbolize the spirit world centered on God. It is a world separate from the body” (ibid, 228-125, 1992.3.27). This correspondence makes mind-body unity (the inner level) and spirit-physical world unification (the cosmic level) the same restoration task at different scales — restoration on one scale enables restoration on the other.
