Elaboration. SMM tells students that schooling is preparation “to follow the path of love in the future” (CSG 4.9 §6, 133-115, 1984.7.10). Knowledge shortens the time needed to serve others and build a true family, so study has a public purpose. The section rejects studying for comfort, power, or wealth as the final aim. The child studies in order to become useful for the Kingdom and for a family life centered on God. This frames education as vocation: learning receives its value from the love it equips.
