Claim. Witnessing is not recruitment but the multiplication of one’s own restored self into another life, and in the spirit-world it is the only asset that survives — wealth, power, and earthly status cannot enter as proofs of life lived.

Elaboration. SMM defines witnessing in re-creation terms: “The purpose of witnessing is to create my second self” (7.1. Witnessing is multiplying myself, 18-186, 1967.6.6). The spirit-world test is unambiguous: “When you go to the spirit world, the only thing that you can be proud of is your witnessing result. In the spirit world, your earthly wealth cannot be an object of pride… The only thing to be proud of is how many lives you have saved” (ibid, 30-148, 1970.3.21). The required intensity is parental: “Have you ever wailed and prayed through the night for the sake of a new guest? Did you ever lament more sorrowfully than at the death of your father, mother, or even your lover? If you have not, then you must try” (ibid, 34-270, 1970.9.13). Money is not the lever — “Did Jesus come with money?… It was not done with money” (ibid, 154-210, 1964.7.17). The principle is investment-with-return: “If you give completely, then it will be returned to you completely. This is the Principle” (ibid, 42-228, 1971.3.14). Witnessing is therefore the substantive form of love — life poured into another life.
