Claim. True equality is not equality of rights or material conditions but equality of love, personality, satisfaction, and joy — an equality given by God and realized through (not against) the order of love in the family.

Elaboration. Lee diagnoses the modern impasse: democratic equality before the law has not produced economic equality, and the Communist experiment to enforce economic equality through abolition of private property produced a new privileged class. Order and equality are typically treated as incompatible — emphasize one and lose the other (Divine Principle Way of Order and Equality).

The Divine Principle resolution: true equality is what people are ‘sincerely searching for in the depths of their original mind’ — the equality children have under the love of their Father, like sunlight shining equally on all. This is equality given by God as subject, not equality humans construct as objects. Crucially, it is realized ‘through order,’ not against it: God’s love is manifested divisionally through family order, so equality of love means fullness of love appropriate to each person’s position. A grandparent receives the love appropriate to a grandparent, a child the love appropriate to a child; both can be ‘equally full’ though structurally different. The fruits are equality of satisfaction, joy, and gratitude.

This fullness only registers for those with ‘perfect object consciousness’ — the heart to attend and thank God. Without that posture, no amount of divine love produces a felt sense of fullness; the person ‘will continually feel dissatisfaction.’ The argument is internally consistent within UC theology but lands as question-begging from outside: critics will object that ‘equality of love but not of rights’ has historically been used to justify rigidly hierarchical social orders (caste, patriarchy, monarchy) by reassuring the subordinated that their inner cup is full. The strongest move in Lee’s framework is the insistence that order itself must be one of love, not domination; the weakest is the absence of any external check on whether rulers/parents actually deliver the promised fullness. Worth a thread once a counter atomic on rights-based equality exists.
