Claim. The ultimate purpose of God’s providence of restoration is to save all of humanity — therefore God intends to abolish hell completely after sufficient time for individuals to make restitution for their sins. Hell cannot remain eternally in the world where God’s purpose of goodness is fulfilled; its persistence would contradict God’s perfection and ideal.
Elaboration. Per 3.3. The Unification of Non-Religious People through Returning Resurrection: “God intends to abolish hell completely after the passage of time necessary for each individual to make restitution for his sin. If hell were to remain eternally in the world where God’s purpose of goodness is fulfilled, it would contradict the perfection of God, His ideal, and His providence of restoration.”
Parental theodicy: “Even fallen parents cannot feel joyful when one of their children is unhappy. Is this not even more true for God, our Heavenly Parent?” DP cites 2 Pet 3:9: “the Lord… is forbearing toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
Mechanism: “In the Last Days, evil spirits will descend to evil people on earth… and assist them to accomplish God’s Will. Indeed, even the demons testified that Jesus was the Son of God.” The same returning-resurrection mechanism (see dp-evil-spirits-torment-as-indemnity-mechanism) that punishes through evil spirits also redeems them when their work serves Heaven’s purpose. Eventually every evil spirit and fallen person finishes its indemnity course.
DP is universalist in the strong sense: hell empties completely, not just lasts long. Breaks with mainstream eternal-conscious-torment (Augustine, Aquinas, Edwards, most Reformed/evangelical) and aligns with Christian universalism (Origen, Hart, Bell). Differs from annihilationism — fallen souls are restored, not destroyed.
Connects to Ch 1’s hell as self-elected withdrawal: hell is real, painful, self-elected — but provisional.
