Claim. Heaven is always at our side ready to help, yet everything still depends on whether we reach back.
Elaboration. The pastor quotes Holy Mother Han (2014): ‘Our heavenly parent is always at our side … ready to assist us. Yet everything depends on us’ (Transcript, 62:16–62:50). She illustrates with Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: ‘God is reaching down to us. But everything depends on us. If we don’t reach back … we’re not matching God’ (ibid, 63:23–63:40). The paradox cuts both ways — it is sobering (‘everything depends on you’) and empowering (‘it gives you power … I can do it’) (ibid, 63:41–63:47).
Significance. Divine help is constant but not coercive; the human portion of responsibility is the hinge on which the providence turns.
