Claim. When you seek God’s kingdom first and love one another, God supplies what you actually need.
Elaboration. Continuing in Matthew 6, the pastor points to the birds of the air who ‘don’t sow or reap … and yet your heavenly father feeds them’ (Transcript, 49:54–50:10), and lands on the command: ‘seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well’ (ibid, 53:57–54:05). She backs it with testimony — Mrs. Shabbat gave away the money in her bank account and her husband soon got the job the family needed (ibid, 50:48–51:08); a longed-for notebook and chamomile tea arrived as gifts the very week she wanted them (ibid, 52:23–53:06). Her reading: ‘when we love each other … God used these people to bring things into my life that I needed’ (ibid, 53:22–53:30).
Significance. Provision is tied to mutual love within the body: right focus on the kingdom is what unlocks God’s supply through the community.
