Claim. The willingness to suffer for God’s kingdom is the movement’s most precious legacy.
Elaboration. Naming her own community, the pastor says, ‘We’re a church that has loved suffering, determined to suffer for God’ (Transcript, 41:38–41:43), and presses the congregation: ‘Do you realize how special that is? How precious that is? This is our legacy’ (ibid, 41:44–41:51). The content of that legacy is concrete — being ‘willing to suffer to go through something hard to bring God’s kingdom to this earth,’ ‘to bring love into our families,’ and ‘to go beyond our own limitations’ (ibid, 41:53–42:05). She adds that God ‘is so grateful for that’ (ibid, 42:05–42:11).
Significance. Sacrifice is framed not as a regrettable cost of discipleship but as the identity and inheritance of the community itself.
