Elaboration. SMM dates the providential pivot: ‘We established Parents’ Day in 1960. What kind of day was that? It was the day when we secured the starting point of total victory, both physically and spiritually; this day also marked the starting point of True Parents’ ideology’ (Section 3. The Course Prior to Becoming the True Parents The Fall led to the appearance of false parents. Because of this, I have had to fol- low a suffering course in order to estab- lish True Parents and a heavenly nation in the midst of this satanic world. This has to be restored by parents. The par- ents must take the responsibility for and indemnify what was jeopardized. (131-62, 1984.4.1) In order to be a True Parent, one must love the world of Cain. This Cain world is the world of the eldest son. The Cain world is just like the world of the fallen eldest son. Therefore, without the True Parents making a condition of having fully given the love of Heaven even amid the opposition of this world, the satan- ic world cannot be restored. The eldest son must be loved first. Since Satan is the eldest son in principle, if God wants to love Abel, He must establish the con- dition of having loved Satan, the eldest son, first. Without showing such love to Satan, there is no way for Him to love the second son. This is according to the Principle. So the path that the mother, Eve, should walk is to unite Cain and Abel and return to Adam. Therefore, no matter how universal a love Mother).
SMM specifies the mechanism: prior to 1960, God could not fight back at full strength because the spirit-physical cooperation basis was missing; after 1960 He could execute His plan in both worlds simultaneously. The wedding established ‘the foundation for victory’ such that ‘we simply need to build a corresponding foundation on the level of family, tribe, people, nation, and world’ — i.e., remaining work is extension, not foundation.
This is consequential for periodizing UC providence: 1960 functions as the hinge year analogous to 4 BC/AD 33 in Christian periodization, and explains the dating of Holy Days, the timing of subsequent seven-year courses, and the logic of the Blessing as participation in the True Parents’ foundation. The claim also entails that restoration history’s failures from Adam through Jesus are now formally reversed at the parent-level; what remains is propagation.
