Claim. Cheon Il Guk (天一國) — the Nation of Cosmic Peace and Unity — is the nation in which two people become one through true love; it was established by the True Parents, not directly by God.
Elaboration. SMM gives a careful etymology and ascription: “It was not God who established His kingship, but the True Parents. It was the True Parents, not God, who established Cheon Il Guk (天一國), Cheonju Pyeonghwa Tongil Guk (天宙平和統一國), the Nation of Cosmic Peace and Unity. Breaking the Chinese character for cheon (天), meaning heaven, into its parts, it signifies two people (二人). This means two worlds” (CSG 15.4 §2, 364-101, 2002.1.1). The structure: heaven and earth, spirit and physical, mind and body — pairs that become one. The minimum-condition gate: “People whose mind and body are in conflict cannot be citizens of Cheon Il Guk.” And the constitution clause: “The Nation of Cosmic Peace and Unity (Cheon Il Guk) needs sovereignty, territory and citizenry. Thus, the Coronation for God’s Kingship last year was the restoration of sovereignty… Then you are to register as the citizens of Cheon Il Guk” (364-87, 2002.1.1). Cheon Il Guk is therefore a substantive polity with stages, not a metaphor.
