Elaboration. “Our family, the owner of Cheon Il Guk, pledges to seek our original homeland and build the Kingdom of God on earth and in heaven, the original ideal of creation, by centering on true love” (5.2. The content of the Family Pledge, 260-157, 1994.5.2). The construction verb is emphasized: “we are not talking about completing, but building. We need to build it, with our own hands. We need to reclaim it from the world of the devil” (ibid, 261-88, 1994.5.22). The homeland is family-based, not nation-based: “The original homeland is based on the family, not the nation. That is why you need to return to your hometowns.” The implication: Pledge One refuses both passive-grace ecclesiology and nation-state restoration; the Kingdom is a thing families build through homecoming, with the family acting as ontological owner of the completed-testament-age sovereignty.
