Claim. The “homeland” sought by every people throughout history is not Korea, USA, or Japan but the original nation of God where True Parents reside and the four-position foundation is structurally completed.
Elaboration. SMM redirects the homeland-longing universally: “Where is the homeland of God? It is the place where true parents and a true family reside. … The homeland is where you can receive the love of the subject partner as the object partners” (1.4. Reclaiming the Homeland, 124-266, 1983.2.27). Every nation of history has failed at being a homeland: “there has not been a single nation that could maintain itself as the beloved homeland of the parents. The homeland was always lost” (ibid, 173-68, 1988.2.14). The original homeland’s coordinates are cosmological rather than political: “This planet earth is the homeland yearned for by humanity. It is the homeland of humanity desired by God” (ibid, 155-321, 1965.11.1). The nationalism-driven homeland is therefore a substitute for the unfinished cosmic homeland, which will have “the one and only sovereignty, citizenry, territory and culture” connected through “one lineage centering on True Parents” (ibid, God’s Will 789).
