Claim. Homosexual partnership violates the universal pair-system structure of creation — it denies the spouse, denies offspring, and therefore extinguishes lineage within a generation.
Elaboration. §2.1.3 derives the rejection of homosexuality from the architecture of creation rather than from a specific moral precept. “Isn’t the gay movement widespread in the United States? Aren’t there many homosexuals? It is because these people do not know the Principle of Creation. However, the members of the Unification Church, who know the Principle of Creation, understood through education that they must absolutely get married” (2.1. Fallen human beings and the state of the fallen world, 118-109, 1982.5.9). The biological-archangel reading: “As America has become the archangel nation in the Last Days, its women will not be qualified to be women. Hence, homosexuals and lesbians arise… The archangel does not acknowledge a complementary partnership” (ibid, 240-155, 1992.12.11). The terminus is generational: “Physiologically, they are not made to be that way. After one generation their lineage will die out” (ibid, 243-74, 1993.1.3). The implication is that the Unificationist position rests on the pair-system doctrine, not on isolated proof-texts.
