Claim. Every level of creation — mineral, plant, animal, human — exists within a “pair system” of subject-object partners, and the purpose of that pair system is love.
Elaboration. §2.1 formulates a single principle running through all of nature: “Everything in the universe, even in the mineral and plant kingdoms, was born with the ideal common base of the subject-object relationship centered on love… In the realm of God-centered love, irrespective of direction… everything, including the basic elements and minerals exist within a pair system, a subject-object relationship, in order that they can always attain harmony and oneness” (2.1. The principle of the pair system governs the existence of the universe, 173-35, 1988.2.1). SMM repeats the enumeration almost ritually — positive/negative ions, stamen/pistil, male/female — and frames the rule strictly: “Anything without a counterpart will be banished from the universe” (ibid, 279-41, 1996.6.9). The implication is that solitary, self-centered existence is metaphysically defective, not just morally. Selfishness violates the structure of being itself.
