Claim. Among the historical saints — Confucius, Buddha, Muhammad, Jesus — only Jesus was a divine son in the strict sense, because only Jesus was born with a lineage purified by a national-level indemnity condition.
Elaboration. SMM distinguishes Jesus from other saints by lineage, not teaching: “Jesus is the saint among all saints. He was able to become the first ancestor based on love due to the purification of the lineage” (2.2. Perfect the dutiful family way, 251-296 1993.11.1). The mechanism is national-scale indemnity: “Because Jesus was born on the foundation of the national-level victory based on the transformation of the lineage, no one on the national level of the satanic world can show any condition to accuse based on blood relations that have not been indemnified” (251-253 1993.10.31). Confucius and Buddha do not qualify: “In all of history there had never been a saint with a purified lineage. Neither Confucius, nor Buddha, nor Mohammed, nor anyone else – except for that one person, Jesus” (ibid). The doctrinal upshot is that “divine son” is a Blessing-mediated lineage status, not a moral attainment — which is why pre-1994 only Jesus held it and post-1994 it becomes available through True Parents.
