Summary. Jesus of Nazareth (c. 4 BC - c. AD 30) is in DP the Messiah and Second Adam, a sinless man born to fulfil the original ideal of creation through marriage and the establishment of restored lineage. His earthly mission, frustrated by Israel’s — and especially John the Baptist’s — refusal of his messiahship, was completed only at the spiritual level through the cross and resurrection. The physical mission of inaugurating God’s kingdom on earth was left to be completed by the Lord of the Second Advent.
