The Pacific civilization is not arriving for economic reasons but for providential ones — Jesus’ body was lost in Asia, so Western civilization must return there to recover what was lost, and the geographic circuit (Asia → Rome → Britain → America → Pacific → Asia) is the path of that recovery.

SMM makes the providential mechanism explicit: “Since Jesus’ body was lost, America – representing spiritual Christianity – has the historical mission of crossing the Pacific and returning to Asia. Consequently, we can conclude that such a time must inevitably come” (1.1. Why is the Pacific era coming?, 224-306, 1991.12.22). The cause of return is precisely the place of loss: “Why is the Pacific civilization coming? The physical body that Jesus lost is returning in the era of a unified cultural sphere in Asia” (232-25, 1992.7.1). Scholars sense the shift without grasping the cause: “eminent scholars who study social science, as well as natural scientists who have any pretence to knowledge, predict that the era of the Pacific civilization will appear and set the trend of history. Why must it be that way? Shouldn’t I know the root cause? … I am the only one who knows” (207-281, 1990.11.11). restoration supplies what economics cannot.
