Claim. The 144,000 saints of Revelation 7 and 14 are the required number Christ at the Second Advent must find during his lifetime to lay the foundation of victory over Satan’s world — derived structurally from the recurring tribal pattern: Jacob’s 12 sons → Moses’s 12 tribes → Jesus’s 12 disciples (spiritual-only) → 144 × 1000 for Second Advent (both spiritual and physical).
Elaboration. Per 2.2.7. The First Resurrection: Christ at the Second Advent “must find a certain number of people who can restore through indemnity the missions of all the past saints who… fell prey to Satan when they failed in their responsibilities. He must find these people during his lifetime and lay the foundation of victory over Satan’s world. The total number… is 144,000.”
Derivation:
- Jacob had 12 sons (family level).
- Moses led 12 tribes (nation level).
- “If these twelve tribes were to multiply once more after the pattern of twelve tribes, they would total 144” — 12 × 12 at world level.
- Jesus found 12 disciples to restore 144 both spiritually and physically; “due to his crucifixion, Jesus was able to restore it only spiritually.”
- Christ at Second Advent must restore both dimensions the post-First-Coming course, scaling to 144,000.
DP’s arithmetical-restoration method: providential numbers derive from historical indemnity-debts. Same pattern recurs in Part II (40-day fasts, 21-year courses, 400-year periods).
Mainstream Christianity reads Rev 7’s 144,000 either literally (dispensationalism — Jewish remnant in tribulation) or symbolically (preterist / amillennial — 12 × 12 × 1000 = perfection × perfection × completeness). DP’s reading is a third option: arithmetical-providential.
