The four-power convergence is treated as providence: “the powerful surrounding nations that have an interest in the Korean peninsula have been gathered together by the Unification Church. That is the case with the Soviet Union, the United States, Japan, and China” (135-317, 1985.12.15). Korean unification is therefore world-shaped, not parochial.
