Claim. Man was born for woman and woman for man — not for themselves; this counter-egoist structure is the law of the universe and the cause for which they were created.
Elaboration. §1.1 makes the gendered counterpart structure ontologically primary. “Why was woman created? She was created for the sake of love, for man. She is meant to exist for the sake of man. Why was man born? Man was born for the sake of woman. That is the essence of the original ideal of the universe” (1.1. Man and woman, 278-203, 1996.5.24). The corollary excludes solipsism: “Those who live only for themselves are acting contrary to the fundamental principle of their birth. People who live in this way are deserters, dropouts, degenerates, and destroyers” (ibid, 221-313, 1991.10.27). And: “Maturing in true love is impossible without a partner… Your partner comes before true love” (ibid, 248-53, 1993.6.20). The implication is that masculinity and femininity are not self-contained essences to be expressed but partner-keyed structures that have meaning only when oriented toward the other.
