Claim. The first condition of the Unification Church is mind-body unity centered on absolute faith, absolute love, and absolute obedience — without it one cannot enter heaven however strong one’s professed faith.
Elaboration. SMM frames the church’s first condition stringently: “The very first condition of the Unification Church is mind-body unity. Thus, at the time of the Creation God enjoined absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience” (CSG 15.4 §5, 400-203, 2003.1.1). The diagnostic test: “If your mind and body are not harmonized as one, you cannot go to heaven however great your faith might be after joining the Unification Church. It is because there are shadows in places of conflict… If your mind and body are disunited, then when the sun shines directly overhead and your mind and body are lopsided, a shadow will appear on your left” (400-197, 2003.1.1). Eve’s particular failure feeds the same point: “Eve’s fall was due to her failure to pursue absolute faith and absolute love. Thus, the principle of restoration through indemnity dictates single-hearted devotion of one mindset for the sake of God to restore absolute faith and absolute love based on conscience” (275-30, 1995.10.30).
