Elaboration. SMM says “parental love is the highest” and that those raised in true parental love understand the dynamics of love (CSG 4.8 §7, 62-16, 1972.9.10). Brothers and sisters should love one another as father and mother do, learning love from parents. The elder sibling, representing parents, sacrifices for younger siblings, just as parents suffer most for children. When this parent-centered love expands, “the love within that family will blossom, and become the love within a society and the love within a nation” (28-151, 1970.1.11).
