Claim. Our seventy-to-eighty years on earth are a training ground in which we prepare the love-breathing capacity needed for eternal life in the spirit-world.
Elaboration. SMM repeatedly frames earthly life as preparatory: “Those who know the existence of the spirit world understand that our life in this world is short, and that the world we enter after death is eternal. Hence, physical life is a time to prepare for the eternal world” (1.3. Our lifetime is preparation for going to the spirit world, 140-121, 1986.2.9). The preparation is not generic moral effort — it is breath-specific: “The spirit world is filled with the air of love. If your spirit self is not prepared, it will not be able to breathe in heaven” (ibid, 265-327, 1994.12.1). Because spirit-world cells are nourished by love rather than air, “you should live with love as the center of your life on earth in order to freely breathe in the spirit world” (ibid, 249-280, 1993.10.11). The seventy-year earthly span is the only window in which this capacity can be cultivated; arriving unprepared leaves the spirit person unable to assimilate in the eternal environment.
