Claim. The only reliable lever for moving God is sincerity offered at the price of one’s life; knowledge, status, and outward forms add nothing to a person who lacks it, while a heart willing to die opens every door.
Elaboration. SMM treats sincerity (jeong-seong) as the operative force in the God-human relationship: “How can we entice God’s love? There is only one path: ‘Sincerity moves heaven.’ There is no other way” (3.1. Sincerity moves Heaven, 78-38, 1975.5.1). The intensity is set by willingness to die: “To serve with all your mind and devotion means giving up your life. Isn’t there a saying, ‘Sincerity moves heaven?‘… God will recognize the person who is ready to sacrifice his life and offer a life of devotion” (ibid, 38-242, 1971.1.8). True Father’s own practice is offered as the standard — three months of winter prayer until his clothing was “completely soaked,” knees with calluses, a “blade of a dagger” buried in the table to demand a response (ibid, 60-212, 1972.8.17). The implication is that ritual form without sincerity is dead, and sincerity without form still moves Heaven — so the priority order is heart first, codification second.
