Claim. A spouse’s sexual organ is said to belong to the other spouse, because love exists for the sake of the partner.

Elaboration. SMM says the owner of the husband’s sexual organ is his wife and the owner of the wife’s sexual organ is her husband (CSG 4.12 §3, 279-244, 1996.9.15). This is presented as an “iron rule” of love: no one owns love privately, and absolute love is found by living absolutely for the sake of the other. The fall is interpreted as Adam and Eve violating this law by treating love as self-owned. Marriage, then, is mutual entrustment rather than possession for oneself.
