Claim. The Three Great Kingships of Pledge 3 — grandparents, parents, children — represent past, present, and future bound into one family, with grandparents serving as God’s ambassadors and grandchildren as the kings and queens of the coming Kingdom.
Elaboration. SMM assigns each generation a kingship-role: “What are the position and significance of grandfathers and grandmothers? They are the ambassadors dispatched by the heavenly kingdom with full and complete authority. That is why you should attend your grandfather and grandmother in the same way as you attend God. Your mother and father are the king and the queen of the present human family of five billion people. You yourselves are princes and princesses who will inherit the kingship of the future” (3.2. The Three Great Kingships, 228-282 1992.7.5). The structure is necessary because: “Adam and Eve were only able to receive Heavenly Father’s love. There was no one, however, who could receive Adam’s love. Thus, even God was only able to love one generation, but He actually needs to experience loving grandchildren, that is, the second generation” (266-147 1994.12.22). Three generations are therefore required for the four-position-foundation to substantively pass through — the fall cut God off at two.
