Claim. cain could have established the foundation-of-substance in adam’s family by reversing — toward abel — each of the four acts by which the archangel caused the fall: take God’s standpoint by loving Abel, keep position by receiving God’s love through Abel, accept Abel’s dominion, and multiply goodness by learning God’s Will from Abel.
Elaboration. Per DP §1.2, the indemnity condition to remove fallen-nature operates by reversing the very process that produced it. Cain stood in the archangel’s position relative to Abel (who stood in Adam’s position). The four reversals are:
- The archangel failed to take God’s standpoint (envied Adam); Cain should have taken God’s standpoint by loving Abel.
- The archangel left his proper position (sought Adam’s); Cain should have kept his position by receiving God’s love through Abel as mediator.
- The archangel reversed dominion (sought to dominate Adam/Eve); Cain should have obediently submitted to Abel’s dominion.
- The archangel multiplied evil (conveyed his evil will through Eve); Cain should have multiplied goodness by being receptive to Abel’s intentions and learning God’s Will from him.
Had Cain accomplished this, both sons together would have fulfilled the condition, adam himself would have been brought onto the foundation-of-substance through them, and the foundation-for-the-messiah would have been established in Adam’s family. Instead, Cain killed Abel — re-enacting the archangel’s act and re-instantiating each of the four fallen-nature characteristics.
This atomic is the first concrete operationalization of Ch 2-1’s dp-foundation-of-substance-removes-fallen-nature-via-cain-abel-indemnity; it supplies the exact four-fold mapping which that abstract atomic references but does not unfold.
