Claim. Beyond its kinds (identity-maintaining/developmental, inner/outer), give-and-receive action is classified into five types and seven characteristics that together specify how it operates across all domains.
Elaboration. Lee enumerates five types of give-and-receive action, carried over from Ontology: (1) Bi-Conscious Type, (2) Uni-Conscious Type, (3) Unconscious Type, (4) Heteronomous Type, and (5) Contrast Type, also called Collation Type (C. Types of Give and Receive Action). The types correspond to the consciousness-status of subject and object: two conscious agents (e.g., dialogue between persons), one conscious agent acting on a non-conscious object (cognition of nature), neither conscious (interactions among physical things), externally-imposed relations (mechanical parts), and contrast/collation (comparing two contents in cognition).
The Contrast Type is methodologically load-bearing for Lee’s Section III appraisals: Plato’s analysis-synthesis of Ideas, Aristotle’s syllogism, and Bacon’s induction are all re-described as inner or outer contrast-type give-and-receive.
Lee then lists seven characteristics, also carried from Ontology: (1) Correlativity, (2) Purposefulness and Centrality, (3) Order and Position, (4) Harmony, (5) Individuality and Connectedness, (6) Identity-Maintaining Nature and Developmental Nature, (7) Circular Motion (D. Characteristics of Give and Receive Action).
Notable here is what is NOT on the list: struggle, contradiction, or negation. This is the silent rebuke to the Hegelian/Marxist dialectic — Lee is asserting that the actual structure of dynamic interaction is harmony-and-purpose under Heart, not contradiction-and-struggle. Circular motion (as opposed to linear or thesis-antithesis-synthesis progression) further encodes the rejection of dialectical developmental form. Critics will press on whether seven characteristics derived a priori from God’s Original Image can do the explanatory work that empirically-derived natural laws do; Lee’s reply, implicit throughout, is that natural phenomena will turn out on examination to be ‘the proof of the law of give and receive action.’
