Claim. Kim Il-sung occupies the position of false parent in North Korea — paralleling the true parents in South Korea — and the providential method requires that he be brought to natural surrender rather than struck down by force, because God’s victory cannot be determined by force.
Elaboration. SMM reads the divided Korea symbolically: True Parents appear in South Korea while their literal hometowns are in North Korea; Satan therefore positioned Kim Il-sung as a counterfeit “beloved parent” in the North (2.8. The parent in the North and the parent in the South). The titular parallel is doctrinally significant: “North Koreans call him their parent, do they not? Why has he appeared at this time in history? The person who is the most villainous in all the communist countries, the greatest of all devils, will appear. However, I am called the True Parent.”
SMM also alleges a February 1987 assassination plot: “Gorbachev and Kim Il-sung conspired together to assassinate me. In February of 1987, they dispatched twenty-five Red Army soldiers to America, and the spirit world caught them carrying my home address. The CIA caught them, and while they were being investigated I entered Moscow.”
The methodological claim is critical: “The True Parent should be able to subjugate the false parent through natural surrender. He should not be struck down by force. God’s providence of salvation and God’s victory or defeat is not determined by force.” Force would let Satan win quickly. Instead, God lets Satan do everything he wants, then makes him pay for striking the side of justice. This is consistent with SMM’s broader indemnity theology: providence advances by absorbing attack and converting opposition into surrender.
The arming metaphor follows: where North Koreans are “armed with Juche thought,” Unificationists must arm with “the Three Subjects Principle centered on God’s unshakable and absolute love.” Critics typically engage on the symmetry assumption (does a dictator’s title “parent” really make him the providential counterpart?) and on the assassination-plot details. The claim’s broader importance is that it makes Korean reunification a literal Cain-Abel resolution at the parental level.
