Claim. After death, each person faces judgment from tens of millions of ancestors in the spirit world, and the only standard that secures a passing grade is the ‘ideal tradition of true parents.’
Elaboration. SMM frames the spirit-world as a kinship realm ‘controlled by our ancestors, starting with Adam,’ with the Kingdom of Heaven on earth being its descendant counterpart. When you die you ‘will surely find yourself in the realm inhabited by tens of millions of your ancestors. You will then have to face each one. If you have any faults, you will receive judgment from them’ (Section 2. The Reason We Must Attend True Parents on Earth The spirit world is a realm controlled). Academic credentials are irrelevant: ‘Even if you have a doctorate, it will not matter.’
The answer to ‘what allows you to pass?’ is ‘the ideal tradition of true parents.’ True parents produce a true family (family president), a true national leader (national parent), and ultimately world-level True Parents. The believer’s loyalty must scale upward: one should ‘go beyond one’s family, beyond one’s wife and beyond one’s parents in order to become one with the nation,’ and serve the parents of the nation more than the parents of one’s family, because they stand higher; and the parents of the world above national parents.
This ranked sacrifice is offered as the distinguishing mark of the Unification Church: ‘we must willingly sacrifice the true parents of the family and even the true parents of the nation’ to pave the way for world-level True Parents. The frame collapses the standard Christian forensic-judgment picture (judgment by God or Christ) into a relational/ancestral one — judgment by kin who themselves recognize or fail to recognize the True Parent tradition. This is load-bearing for UC funerary and blessing practice: ancestors must be liberated and connected so they can recognize the tradition in their descendants. Worth a thread once a counter atomic from classical Protestant soteriology is in place.
