Claim. SMM teaches that True Parents’ Day was the central idea in God’s concept of creation: the purpose of blessing Adam and Eve to take dominion over all things was to establish True Parents, and the fall is precisely what prevented this cosmic day of joy from ever being celebrated.
Elaboration. The framing in Section 1. True Parents’ Day and True Parents reverses the usual ordering: dominion over creation is not the telos, it is instrumental — the purpose of the dominion blessing was that Adam and Eve, by uniting centered on God, would become True Parents, at which point ‘the entire universe would have sung praises in the name of the Universal Parents.’
This is a strong claim about the purpose-of-creation: the climax of Genesis 1 was meant to be the four-position-foundation realized in a true-parents couple, not merely the stewardship mandate. Because of the Fall, ‘heaven and earth never saw this True Parents’ Day,’ and the entire providence of restoration is reframed as God’s unceasing work to realize that original ideal.
SMM further stratifies the day: True Parents’ Day must be established at individual, family, society, national, global and cosmic levels before God’s original purpose of creation is complete. Even though True Parents’ Day and True Children’s Day have been instituted as church holy days, they have not yet been established at every level. The same applies to True Children’s Day and the Day of All True Things. Only when these days have ‘globally triumphed’ will God’s purpose be complete and ‘True Parents’ Day finally become True Parents’ Day for all humankind and at the same time True Parents’ Day for Heaven itself.’
The theological move worth flagging: liturgical days in UC practice are not commemorative but ontologically constitutive — celebrating them at each level is part of how the providence advances. Critics from evangelical traditions typically engage on whether a holy day can carry that kind of metaphysical weight, but within the system it is consistent with the broader pattern of providence advancing through ritual establishment.
