Claim. Prime Force — the causal force vertically given from God to creatures — and Universal Prime Force — its horizontal extension among creatures — contain both physical energy and the force of love, because they originate from give-and-take between Original Sungsang (centered on Heart) and Original Hyungsang (pre-energy).
Elaboration. Two energies arise from pre-energy through give-and-take in the Original Image. ‘Forming energy’ becomes particles and creates material; ‘acting energy’ acts on all things as the force causing give-and-take (centripetal and centrifugal force). This causal acting force is Prime Force; when acting horizontally among creatures it is Universal Prime Force (Original Hyungsang and Force).
The critical theological claim is the love-content of these forces. Because give-and-take between Original Sungsang and Original Hyungsang is grounded in Heart (the root of love), the two derived energies are ‘the unity of physical energy and the force of love.’ Lee cites Sun Myung Moon’s New Hope Banquet speech (May 1975) as having ‘often mentioned that the force of love is acting in Universal Prime Force.’
This is a load-bearing claim with empirical-looking consequences. If gravitation, electromagnetism, and the strong/weak forces all carry a force-of-love component, then physics is incomplete in principle and ethics (‘love your neighbor’) is in some sense aligned with the Way of Heaven not just morally but physically. Lee leverages this in the Heart-and-Prime-Force section to answer ‘Should we love others without fail?’ ‘Is struggle ever necessary?’ — the answer is shaped by the love-content of the cosmos.
Critics from physics engage on whether ‘force of love’ is doing any explanatory work or is a metaphorical addition; critics from theology engage on whether identifying gravitation with love conflates the moral and physical orders inappropriately. Worth a thread once a physics counter-atomic exists.
