Claim. The Unification image of the ideally-educated person triangulates three images — person of character (from education of heart), good citizen (from education of norm), and genius (from education of dominion) — each addressing one of the three blessings.
Elaboration. Lee specifies a triple image of educational success mapped to the three forms of education (III. Image of the Ideally-Educated Person). A “person of character” is one who has internalized God’s Heart and practices love — not merely virtuous, knowledgeable, or healthy by secular measures, but one who “in tears, will forgive God’s enemies with Divine love” and embodies both law and love (“most tender toward others and most strict toward himself or herself”). A “good citizen” is one whose family-based norm-education extends naturally outward, so that they live as a good member of family, society, nation, world, and eventually as “a good spirit person in the spirit world as well” — what Lee calls “a good member of the cosmos” and equivalently “a good citizen in the Kingdom of Heaven.” A “genius” is one whose individual creativity has been fully manifested — musical, mathematical, political, or business — through education of dominion built on the foundation of heart and norm.
The three images are not alternative ideals among which to choose; they are simultaneous facets of one complete person. The genius cannot be truly developed without character and citizenship; the citizen cannot transcend mere conformity without character and creative dominion; the person of character is incomplete without family-citizenship and developed creativity.
Lee makes a strong claim about the universality of genius potential: “Originally everyone has the talent of genius, since human beings were originally created to become beings with creativity, inheriting God’s creativity.” The Chinese characters for genius literally mean “a person with talent given by Heaven.” Every human has potential genius based on individuality, but “due to the fallen environment” most remain mediocre — perhaps “only one person out of tens of thousands” reaches genius level. Restored balanced education plus spirit-world cooperation can dramatically raise this ratio.
The claim is striking for its democratizing of genius (against elitist innate-talent models) while preserving the demand for character and citizenship (against pure self-actualization models). It also explicitly bridges this-worldly and other-worldly citizenship: a good citizen on earth becomes a good spirit person in the spirit world.
