Claim. Every individual being performs both rotation and revolution simultaneously because it is both an individual truth being (engaging in internal give-and-receive, producing rotation) and a connected being (engaging in external give-and-receive, producing revolution).
Elaboration. Lee maps two kinds of celestial motion onto the two-stage structure of being (2. Rotation and Revolution). Rotation is the circular motion produced by internal give-and-receive (the subject-object pair within the being itself — its sungsang and hyungsang, yang/yin, or principal/subordinate elements). Revolution is the circular motion produced by external give-and-receive (the being’s relation to other beings). The earth revolves around the sun while rotating; an electron revolves around the nucleus while rotating.
The deeper grounding: these two motions resemble the round and harmonious nature of the inner and outer give-and-receive actions within the Original Image. Inner give-and-receive in God forms the inner four position foundation; outer give-and-receive forms the outer four position foundation. The ‘two-stage structure of the Original Image’ is mirrored in the ‘two-stage structure of existence’ in every created being.
A crucial doctrinal point: in created beings the center of any four-position-foundation is always purpose, not Heart. (In God, the center can be Heart for identity-maintaining four position foundations.) This means created motion is teleological — directed toward purposes — in a way that God’s internal life is not. God’s identity-maintenance is grounded in Heart itself; creation’s identity-maintenance is grounded in the purpose of creation God assigns.
Lee’s framework here is doing impressive systematizing work: the same structural template (inner/outer give-and-receive, four position foundation, identity-maintaining/developmental) is mapped onto God, mind, body, family, atom, solar system, galaxy. This makes UT’s ontology highly fractal — the same pattern appears at every scale. Critics will worry the pattern is too flexible to be predictive; defenders will say its very generality is evidence that creation is unified in likeness.
