Claim. The Old Testament Age — from Abraham to Jesus — was divided into six providential periods totaling roughly 2000 years, each restoring through image-parallel indemnity a specific period of the prior foundation-laying age. The periods: 400-year Egyptian slavery, 400-year period of the judges, 120-year united kingdom, 400-year divided kingdoms of north and south, 210-year exile-and-return, 400-year preparation for the Messiah.
Elaboration. Per Part 2 Ch 4 §3:
- 400 years of slavery in Egypt — restored on the national level the foundation of separated-Satan that had been laid in the 400 years from Noah to Abraham (lost by Abraham’s symbolic-offering mistake). Image-parallel to the 1600 years Adam→Noah.
- 400 years of the judges — Israel turned faithless under Joshua, defiling the Egypt-slavery foundation; the judges-period (Joshua’s entry to Saul’s enthronement, deduced from 1 Kgs 6:1) re-separated Satan. Image-parallel to the 400 years Noah→Abraham.
- 120 years of the united kingdom — Saul (40) + David (40) + Solomon (40). Saul’s disobedience prolonged the Temple-building dispensation across two more reigns. Image-parallel to the 120 years from Abraham’s departure to Jacob’s purchase of the birthright.
- 400 years of the divided kingdoms — kingdom split into Israel (north) and Judah (south) until exile to Babylon. Image-parallel to the 40 years from Jacob’s purchase of the birthright to his Haran departure.
- 210 years of exile and return — Babylonian captivity through liberation by Persia and rebuilding under Ezra and Nehemiah. Image-parallel to the 21 years of Jacob’s Haran labor (three 7-year periods).
- 400 years of preparation for the Messiah — inter-testamental silence from Malachi to Jesus. Image-parallel to the 40 years from Jacob’s Canaan-return to Israel’s Egypt-entry.
The sequence is the same 120 → 400 → 210 → 400 cascade that Abraham’s family carried vertically (per dp-horizontal-restoration-carried-vertically-as-extended-numerical-periods) — now scaled nationally because Saul’s failure repeated what Abraham’s had also prolonged.
Significance. DP’s specific commitment about Israel’s chronology. Where mainstream OT chronologies treat the periods as approximate and independently dated (united monarchy ~10–80 years, Babylonian exile ~70 years), DP requires exactly 120 and exactly 210 because the indemnity-derivation generates the lengths. Falsifiable: if the Babylonian exile is genuinely ~70 years (Jer 25:11–12, 29:10) not 210, the parallel collapses.
